Description of the project
a. Mama Power Initiative
This program aims at making a positive change through directly supporting women at the grass root levels committed to making a positive impact in their families. This is done through supporting the women in their initiatives aimed at supporting their families such as farming and women group projects which is largely enhanced through trainings and seminars geared towards providing them with literacy and skills on the various improvement initiatives to help them be more sustainable and maintain focus. b. Mama Toto Initiative
This is a program under the Metta Mama that seeks to help out the young mothers on ensuring that their families/children livelihood are uplifted and progressing on positively. Most of the young mothers in the rural regions have been disadvantaged due to lack of support psychologically, emotionally and educationally leaving them vulnerable and hopeless. We join hands together with other persons of goodwill to ensure the community embraces them with dignity and support them in their areas of need so as to bring back their lost hope and will to serve as positive members in the society through education for those willing to go back to formal learning, vocational skill training, counselling, holding life skills seminars and training. With availability of resources, the program extends its wings to help the young mothers in their new roles, be empowered through various IGA (Income Generation Activities), among others that help them gain a proper base to participate in the social, economic and literacy growth which translates out to protect the future of their families, children and the community at large.
